ModAmont!

The only thing I love about flying very early in the morning is the views thru the little plane window.
This is an amazing moment...the Pyrenees flying from Barcelona to Paris.

This time Couloir was going to one of the most important Fairs in fashion accessories, not to say the most important in Europe: Modamont, Premier Vision.
Fried Frêres was showing their collections of buttons and accessories for textile.
And we were invited!
The fair is just impressive.
In Modamont you had a full wall in the main hall where you could find a little sample of what every company was offering in their stand.

Perfect way of finding what you are looking for.

Casadei sandals

Winter 2010/11, came first

Summer 2011 is coming

Casadei, the italian shoemaker's firm confirms its love affair with Swarovski.
The infatuation italians, Milanese in this case, have for the bling-bling effect can be proved in many ways. We found a very expensive one.
The winter pair are only about 600€, which sum, in a moment of need, can be afforded by, lets say, some people. I'm not sure the 10.000€ needed to purchase the summer pair of Casadei shoes can be so easily "dropped. Although I guarantee you can be the queen of the night with this fantastic shoes.
There is a cheaper way of having something similar, of course.
Buy yourself a nice pair of high heels sandals and a few boxes of Flat Back no hot fix crystal stones and open your imagination! Good luck!

Mr T: a jeweler's dream

http://www.foreveryoungadult.com/2010/06/14/introducing-mr-t-and-oh-yes-he-pities-the-fool
Thinking about the series and TV shows I couldn't help but remembering a character whose looks should have been followed by everybody. Imagine this fantastic trend of wearing a few pounds of jewelry all day long, never mind what you are doing, if you wear clothes or not... The community of jewelers and bijoux makers wouldn't be in any kind of crisis.

I believe nodody knows if all this gold is actual gold or golden metal... well let's leave the mystery unfolded, we don't really mind, do we?

via http://mrnelsonhomework.wordpress.com/mr-ts-corner

Long live Mr T and his jewelry loving character.

Downton abbey

Here is the series I started the year with. The discovery of Downton Abbey has made it one of my favorites right now. I'd say it is in my top 5 with The Tudors, Rome, Mad Men and Deadwood.
All these series besides being completely perfect about filming techniques and plots, they all  have something in common: amazing stage sets and costumes.

I can not remain impassive when I see all these pieces of jewellery. No one would think they are real (maybe some) but to think of somebody designing costume jewellery from the period of pre WWI, makes me want to be that person. It appears obvious that there has been a exhaustive research job about it. From here I congratulate them for such good work. Fantastic!
