Swarovski Vintage: art. 5204 Rose AB D.S&Co.



First things first... I just found myself in front of an article which is not in manufacture anymore.
I can't believe they don't make this cool shape of beads nowadays. 
Must find the reason somewhere. I hope it is a romantic one...
The truth is there are a lot of things that I would like to know about this kind of articles. 
Anyways..The beads are faceted 12x8mm (0.47"x0.31") and Rose color with Aurora Borealis coating.

Empecemos por el principio... me acabo de encontrar delante de un artículo que ya no se fabrica.
No me puedo creer que hayan dejado de fabricar estas formas tan chulas.
Tengo que encontrar la razón. Espero que sea una de romántica...
La verdad es que hay un montón de cosas que me gustaría saber sobre este tipo de artículos antiguos.
Bueno...Estos beads son facetados de 12x8mm con un coating the Aurora Boreal.

Flat back head

Philip Levine is one lucky man. A man who shaves his head because he is going bold, might be not too happy about it, never mind proud.
This man is one of the fighters. He decided to make the most of it. Got Gillete as his sponsor (very clever) and started playing with his own head.
This image is one of the pieces of the future exhibition called "Headism", where Philip is going to show pictures and videos and sculptures of what he has been creating over his head.
We particularly like this one. Head full of 1000 flat backs...interesting... 

Philip Levine es un hombre de suerte. Un hombre que se tiene que afeitar al cabeza porque se está quedando calvo, normalmente no está demasiado contento con ello. Ni contento ni orgulloso.
Este hombre es un luchador. Decidió sacarle todo lo que pudo a su situación. Consiguió Gillete como sponsor (muy sagaz) y empezó a jugar con su propia cabeza,
Esta imagen es una de las piezas de la futura exhibición "Headism", donde Philip va a mostrar fotos, vídeos y esculturas de lo que ha creado sobre su cabeza.
A nosotros no gusta esta foto particularmente. Su cabeza forrada con 1000 flat backs...interesante...

Vintage Swarovski: Art. 308 sapphire light AB K.S.&Co



"In 1895, Swarovski financier Armand Kosmann and Franz Weis founded the Swarovski company, originally known as A. Kosmann, Daniel Swartz & Co, which was later shortened to K.S. & Co. The company established a crystal cutting factory in Wattens, Tyrol (Austria), to take advantage of local hydroelectricity for the energy-intensive grinding processes Daniel Swarovski patented". So...this light sapphire little drops must be a few years old...
I still can't believe the feeling I've had opening this sachet of rhinestones. How this drops can be in perfect state after more than 50 years of existence.
I guess it's because they were made with the best materials and techniques.
It is a 1 gross (144pieces) of the art. 308 in Sapphire light AB.
They are 6x10mm (0.27"x0.39")

O sea... estas pequeñas gotas facetadas deben de tener unos cuantos años...
Es increíble la sensación que he tenido al abrir este paquetito.
Cómo puede ser que después de 50 años, más o menos, estén en tan buen estado. Debe ser porqué se han hecho con los mejores materiales y técnicas.
El paquete es de 1 gruesa (144 piezas).
Las gotitas hacen 6x10mm.
Creo que aquí una imagen vale más que muchas palabras.

Vintage Swarovski: Art. 5000 7mm Siam DS&Co.


Sometimes I wonder where does the name of the colors come from. With all the information we have on the net and I haven't been capable of finding out why Siam color is called Siam.
Can anybody tell me?¿
I am terribly curious now!
This Swarovski beads are presented in a box of 144 pieces (1gross)
They are 7mm big which is a size not manufactured anymore in Siam color.

A veces me pregunto de donde vienen los nombres de los colores. Con toda la información que tenemos en la red y he sido incapaz de descubrir por qué al color Siam se le llama Siam.
Alguien lo sabe?¿Me lo puede decir?¿

Este artículo de Swarovski es un bead presentado en una caja de 144 piezas (1 gruesa)
Los beads son de 7mm, una medida que no se hace en color Siam.
