Swarovski Samples from 1965
This Swarovski sample box was a new product to be sold in 1965.
I just couldn't believe when I came across this beautiful little set made a few years before I was born.
Isn't it gorgeous?¿

Marble glass drops

Swarovski Vintage: art. 5204 Rose AB D.S&Co.
First things first... I just found myself in front of an article which is not in manufacture anymore.
I can't believe they don't make this cool shape of beads nowadays.
Must find the reason somewhere. I hope it is a romantic one...
The truth is there are a lot of things that I would like to know about this kind of articles.
Anyways..The beads are faceted 12x8mm (0.47"x0.31") and Rose color with Aurora Borealis coating.

Philip Levine is one lucky man. A man who shaves his head because he is going bold, might be not too happy about it, never mind proud.
This man is one of the fighters. He decided to make the most of it. Got Gillete as his sponsor (very clever) and started playing with his own head.
This image is one of the pieces of the future exhibition called "Headism", where Philip is going to show pictures and videos and sculptures of what he has been creating over his head.
We particularly like this one. Head full of 1000 flat backs...interesting...
Philip Levine es un hombre de suerte. Un hombre que se tiene que afeitar al cabeza porque se está quedando calvo, normalmente no está demasiado contento con ello. Ni contento ni orgulloso.

A nosotros no gusta esta foto particularmente. Su cabeza forrada con 1000 flat backs...interesante...

Vintage Swarovski: Art. 308 sapphire light AB K.S.&Co
So...this light sapphire little drops must be a few years old...
I still can't believe the feeling I've had opening this sachet of rhinestones. How this drops can be in perfect state after more than 50 years of existence.
I guess it's because they were made with the best materials and techniques.
It is a 1 gross (144pieces) of the art. 308 in Sapphire light AB.
They are 6x10mm (0.27"x0.39")

Es increíble la sensación que he tenido al abrir este paquetito.
Cómo puede ser que después de 50 años, más o menos, estén en tan buen estado. Debe ser porqué se han hecho con los mejores materiales y técnicas.
El paquete es de 1 gruesa (144 piezas).
Las gotitas hacen 6x10mm.
Creo que aquí una imagen vale más que muchas palabras.

Sometimes I wonder where does the name of the colors come from. With all the information we have on the net and I haven't been capable of finding out why Siam color is called Siam.
Can anybody tell me?¿

They are flat in the bottom and have no holes. What makes them perfect to use on fabric cos they have a big surface and the glue can act properly.

A parte de ser el título de una película, digamos por lo menos interesante, Hard Candy es lo que son estos pequeños lazos. Si los muerdes sabrás de lo que estoy hablando.
Bromas a parte lo que realmente son es tres colores distintos de lazo de cristal facetado de 30x15x4mm
En topaz, siam y amatista.
Son planos por la parte inferior y no tienen agujeros. Lo que los hace perfectos para usar sobre tela ya que tienen gran superficie de pegado.
También tienen que quedar fantásticos con unas grapas, boca o base de metal.

Faceted bottle-green
These are the green rectangular glass stones that formed a cross on the Cibeles Catwalk.
Quite big, they are 40x15.5x6.5mm (1.58x0.6x0.26 inches)
I hope you can appreciate the color and the texture through the pictures.
They are not beads. They are not perforated in any way so they need a metal base or setting to make compositions with it.
Every time I go around a big piece like that I realize how things have changed over the years.
I wouldn't be able to tell you how old these guys are, but I can assure you, for some reason, nobody makes glass stones like this anymore. And if they do, they think they should only be for chandeliers and they put a hole on them. I guess we have gone so cheap nobody wants to produce large expensive things. When I say expensive I mean expensive for what they are, if you know what I mean.

Son bastante grandes, miden 40x15.5x6.5mm

No son beads. No están perforados por ningún lado. Necesitan una base o engaste de metal para poder hacer composiciones con ellas.
Cada vez que me encuentro con una pieza de estas características, me doy cuenta como parece que han cambiado las cosas con los años.
No sabría deciros cuantos años tienen estas piezas, pero os puedo asegurar que, por alguna razón, ya no se hacen piezas de vidrio tan grandes como estas. Y si las fabrican es para piezas de chandeliers o lámparas y les ponen un agujero en alguna parte. Igual es que intentamos gastar tan poco que nadie quiere producir piezas grandes y caras como estas. Cuando digo caras me refiero a caras por lo que son, se entiende.
